Four Points Sheraton

Here are some pictures of our reception location, the Four Points Sheraton at Earth City. The first picture is our ballroom, the Joliet (minus the chair covers), the second picture is the hotel from the outside and the third is a picture of their guest rooms. The hotel is holding a block of rooms for us at a discounted rate of $79 for our out-of-town guests. Click on the pictures to seem them larger.

This is awesome!

These pictures are incredible! You have to check them out! It's pictures by artist Julian Beever who does his artwork on the streets and sidewalks of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. They are drawn in a 3-D way that makes them look real! The picture above came from this website.

St. Louis Best Bridal Show

We went to the St. Louis Best Bridal Show on Sunday (well me and a couple of my girls - Tom of course didn't want to go). Picked up a lot of info about photographers, DJs and florists. We still need to make a decision about the reception location!

Airport Embassy Suites or Four Points Sheriton?

First Impressions

First Impressions are important...and even though sometimes you change your mind about someone or something after the first impression, you don't forget it.

So at lunch today I went to visit the St. Louis Airport Marriott to check them out for a wedding reception location. Well I get there and the woman is like "he's out today, we couldn't find your phone number to call and let you know." Well, they most certainly have all of my info, address, phone etc. So they had a woman who knows nothing about receptions give me a little tour. I just wanted to say, "well there's lots of other hotels around the area that I would rather do my business with!"

Wedding reception stuff

So we visited the Four Points hotel on Saturday to see it all decorated for receptions, it was very nice. This week I am visiting some other places before making the final decision.

This week I am visiting:
Stupid Westport Best Western, I tried to get info out of them and after talking to three different people I hung up. They didn't seem to realize that I wanted info about their banquet hall, not about their guest rooms, (even though I specifically pointed this out) plus they could hardly speak english!

ipod Pains

*sigh* I listen to my ipod at work everyday, and for the last week every time I plug it into my computer and open itunes it has been telling me to update the ipod software, so I finally downloaded it this morning. Well turns out I can't use my ipod now until I plug the darned thing into a wall outlet - too bad I don't have the wall outlet plug here at work and now I'm stuck listening to internet radio all day! (b-ana-nas! bananas! bananas!)

The Reception

So I think I found the perfect place for our wedding reception today. It is the Four Points Hotel at the Earth City exit off of hwy 70. They have two nice ballrooms, one for 150 people or less and the other for 180-200 guests. They are reasonably priced and offer tons of bonuses. So I think I might have found my reception spot! I am going to visit a few other places before I make the final decision. (and of course my fiance Tom has a little say in the matter too!).

We are going to 2 wedding shows, one on July 17 and the other on August 7. I should get some ideas for the other planning stuff - dress, photographer, dj - at that time.

Well Fipsy wants to come out to play so I better go.

My first blog post

Woo hoo, I'm writing my first blog posting! Tom was complaining that I didn't post on his blog so I told him I'd make a better one.
